2 weeks ago a upgrade was done on my vodacom account. I had not authorised this. Some how an individual had information that my account was due for an upgrade, walked into Jakes vodacom shop in Polokwane with a fake ID and upgraded my contract to the smart S (new iphone 5s) and walked out the shop with it. I live in JHB meaning this was done without any proper security checks issued. After contacting vodacom they informed me to send prove that I was who I claimed to be by sending through a copy of my ID and affidavit. I complied without question and sent through the documents the following day. Now the issue came in while trying to follow up with vodacom who gave me the run around over the course of 2 weeks, re-asking for the documents several times after i received confirmation they had been received. I received absolutely disgusting service from their call centres who kept dropping calls, telling me there was no department and giving me a complete run around after the fact that this was their stuff and allowed someone to walk into their shop and upgrade my contract. What is more of a concern is how this individual was made aware of me being due for upgrade!!!???
