WARNING TO THE COMMUNITY
I would like to share my personal experience and observations about Karien Schnetler-Lotz, who is the owner of Abany Residence at 26 Celliers Street, Sunnyside, and is also involved in farming in The Willows. She is an active member of Lynnwood Ridge Church.
In my experience, and according to what I have personally seen, she has engaged in conduct that I find extremely disturbing, including:
Treating people in a manner that I have experienced as manipulative, intimidating, and emotionally damaging.
Exploiting vulnerable and disabled individuals, where situations are manipulated to appear entirely different to outsiders.
Behaving in a way that initially seems friendly and accommodating, but in my experience, can quickly change when there is something to be gained for her own benefit.
Incidents where I believe tenants were pressured and even confronted during the night.
Based on my own experience, I also believe she has stolen substantial financial amounts from her parents’ and other family members’. I also have the impression that alcohol abuse plays a significant role in her behavior.
My personal impression is that she has a very strong ability to manipulate situations to her own advantage and twist the truth so that she appears to be the “angel” in the story. Based on my experiences, I would strongly advise people to think twice before entrusting themselves, their loved ones, or their property to her care.
This message is not intended as an attack, but as a warning based on personal experiences and observations. I believe that transparency is important so that others can make informed decisions.
