I have a student account with absa and since I am working I went to the bank two weeks back to convert the account to the normal cheque account but keeping my old account number. I was told its not possible because they have to close the old account and open a new one. I know Standard bank does that, why cant Absa do that for their customers? There is too many complications if I have to change the account number because I will not get my salary for three months. I was happy with Absa but not anymore.
