I must pay ABSA to close my account

I have very disappointed to hear that an account which I do not use and would like to close, is being hampered due to the fact that I have been told that I need to pay ABSA to close my account?

I am sorry but I do not see why I should be paying ABSA to close an account that should have been made dormant already as I haven't used it for more than 6 months. Besides for the fact that the little I did have there has now been brought down to R18 and should I close it I must pay in R3.75?? Seriously???

It's for situations like this that I have stopped using my ABSA account and why I have not even opened up account for my teenage daughters at ABSA. I'm too afraid that their meager savings will be "Charged" to oblivion.
