Why is it that STB continues to hand this settled and closed account over to a new debt collecting agency every single year for the past 5 YEARS? Don't they ever check their records before doing so?
Every single year these agencies ask us to prove ourselves and every year we do. We have even escalated this case before to the ombudsman of STB.
What more are we supposed to do?
When we phone standard bank they cant help us. When we ask these agencies for their contact details they refuse to hand it out. They only supply fax numbers. They refuse to call the bank and enquire about this account, they always claim they are not allowed to and we have to make such calls ourselves. How does that even work? Surely, they should be able to contact the person who gave them the work to check their records!! STB uses multiple agencies, so they don't even know to whom they handed this account to!
This is BEYOND ridiculous! This is unacceptable!
We are tired of being harassed!
