I would like to express how disappointed, disrespected and humiliated I was with the service that I received from Maxis on N1 Caltex filing station on the way to Polokwane on Sunday (05.10.2025 around 16h00. It was my first time trying the restaurant because I wanted to grab something to eat because I was very hungry.
When I entered the restaurant, I was welcome by two nice ladies and they told me that I should go to place my order on the other side indeed I proceeded as told. I got to the counter I greeted also another lady she was very welcoming and I requested a menu. She gave I look at the menu and place my order to someone that was in front of me I did not notice that it was a different person.
It was a man, and I told him I am ready to order. He said to me "Awu in South Africa we don't greet people now" He went on to say "I am not going to take your order I am going on the other side" I told him that I greeted when I got here I didn't even noticed that you not the same person who was here before. He refused to take my order and left me standing by the counter and went to the other side. The lady whom I found there before apologise for his behaviour and assisted me with my order.
What is really disappointing about this whole scenario is I was told that he is the manager there but yet he treated me like a piece of trash, he never even allowed me to talk, he walked away while was talking to him. I felt so small like I was in a wrong place because there were other customer who saw that even some of the stuff saw what he did. I felt so undermined and it really broke my heart to be treated like that.
I loved my burger I really enjoyed it but I am really hesitant to go back after such treatment
