Non termination of contract

I took out a contract with vodacom and since I was already a Vodacom prepaid customer, I decided to convert my current number to contract and I was supposed to get the phone on the 9th of January 2014. My account was converted to contract on the 8th of January. The RAM guys got to my house on the 9th as expected but they refused to leave the phone at the house with my son (who I was getting the contract for). I was currently out of the country on business at that time. I tried making an arrangement that my son get the phone but the call center lady said there was nothing they could help me with. So i decided to cancel the contract on the afternoon of the 9th of January and the lady told me it would be converted to prepaid by Monday 13 Jan. Today, the line is still a contract line despite having told them to cancel it. And the surprising thing is, it still appears on my bill.
