First National Bank
FNB does not live up to their radio ad

On the 29 November I applied for a cheque account online On the radio FNB promises your card will be deliver in 3 days mine came on the 9 December. They tell you to pay in a R100 to activate your account but when you go to the branch they tell you your account can not be activated because they have not yet FICAed your account. On the 5 December I received a SMS from FNB to say in order for my overdraft to be approved I must send in documents that were needed which I did however only 2 months statements were given with a note saying if SEP is required I would get it. NO REPLY AT ALL. Today I phone to find out what is going on, only to be told the application was cancelled because documents could not be validated. The call centre then tells me that my cell no was wrong so they could not let me know (they sent me a SMS) She then says she will renew the application. After 30 min she phones back and says the application was declined because the documents could not be validated and because of this I can only reapply on the 31 January. When I told her that I was not informed she read the term and conditions about how FNB can not be held responsible for failed SMS's.
