I opened a gold cheque account with FNB in June/July of 2012. I happily moved all my debit orders and such over from ABSA with no issue. In January / February of 2013, I upgraded to a Platinum cheque account, and on 20 March 2013 applied for a revolving credit loan.
The consultant indicated that the loan was approved in principle, and that they would send documents to me for my perusal and signature. I had to harass the call center for 3 days (after waiting for a week) just to get them to send me the forms. I dotted the i's, crossed the t's and sent it back to FNB. For a week I hear nothing, so I phone fast applications again today, to inquire on the status of my application, just to hear that it cannot be processed because somebody gave me a second cheque account (that I did not ask for, that I did not sign for) and because my salary has never paid into this account, my revolving credit load has been declined.
This is not my mistake, yet I am suffering for it. Thanks for nothing, I should probably continue my bank-hopping until I find a bank that wants to deliver on their promises.
The application reference in question is SI2013032001241
