A few months ago I decided to move my Std Bank Acc to FNB, because my home loan is with FNB. I spoke to the Branch manager at Somerset Mall and he told me what documents I needed to open an account (payslip, ID etc). I got all the documents and opened a cheque account. The consultant asked me if I wanted a credit card, I accepted, because I was hoping to close my Std Bank Credit card. The consultant also explained that I qualified for an overdraft on my cheque acc. I provided all the documents needed, months later I was told the credit card is still not opened because my payslip is unclear on the fax, I faxed it again and gave one to the branch. I later received an sms to say the application is cancelled due to an unclear payslip?? Why did head office not just phone the education department's HR to confirm my employment? The overdraft story is just another that was told. Now I'm stuck with 2 cheque accounts and have to pay on both sides. I'm closing my FNB account, and taking my bond where people don't tell...
