I tried to open a bank account with Capitec Bank this morning, with an official government (Department of education) document, as it is the only proof of residence I have, only to be informed by Capitec that it is not a Fica required document. How are you supposed to open an account if you only have this proof of residence. I have tried before with a copy of our lease agreement, but because I am not the lease holder, but an additional person added to the lease, this is not acceptable either. Capitec bank should inform their WHITE clients, that they are not welcome, as they do not fall into the acceptable clientel!
