Using FICA to justify service

I have banked with Capitec for some time and have always evangelised them as a great, efficient, no-frills, no-nonsense bank. I've had to change that opinion now. I took my stepson and step-daughter to the Fish Hoek branch to transfer his account to his name, to open a new one for her and to update my address details, armed with my usual FICA document, a copy of my lease in Simon's Town. This has done service for FICA and RICA on many occasions. We get informed by the clerk that my copy of the lease will not suffice, as it has not been certified, supposedly as required by the Act. But, no problem, says our helper, if I take the copy next door to the post office they'll certify it right away. So here I have an employee of the bank telling me she can't accept my copy of an established lease because she can't see the original but suggesting that I take it for a meaningless endorsement - knowing that the original will not be seen - whereafter she will accept it. She was really trying to be helpful. So, I guess I'll be the moving my family's accounts to a bank that understands the requirements of the Act and replace my voluntary marketing campaign on their behalf with warnings.
