Gauteng East Branch closed and our accounts moved to Park Place East. On 30/08/2013 at 14h40 I rec an sms from FNB saying that a large amt of money was reserved for payment to an unknown source. While tryng to call the unit several times and being cut off repeatedly I received a call from dept at 15h00 saying possible has been committed. My card, which I had with me, was cancelled by me and I rushed to the branch to sort out the mess. I was told that it would take 6 to 8 weeks before the money would be refunded pending an investigation. I demanded that my money be refunded immediately because the bank was aware of the possible and still allowed money to be withdrawn. At about 16h30 the transaction was reversed. Yesterday at 19h42 my hubby got an sms saying Visa verified and an OTP number was sent. He immediately called the line - got no help. Called card cancellation - cancelled card. Today at 09h25 he got a call saying possible of a huge amt was committed on his acc. He told the agent that his card was cancelled on 16/09/2013 and she checked that no money was removed. No explanations given as to how this happened. FNB - who is accessing our details & how?
