No mention of deposit after cancelled request

I have paid a n amount of R1900.11 in order to be able to order a telkom adsl line, i called in to find out when it would be installed and was promptly told that the order had been cancelled, without letting me know, because they had not received the money, after I had asked them if they would like the proof of payment e mailed to them nd they said no, they then find out that the money has been paid, apparently VVM keeps it for 6-8 weeks in their acc, but it is reflecting, so they can go ahead with the order. i called yesterday to find out when installation wld take place and was told I wld get an sms with a date no later than yesterday afternoon, NO SMS received. I call today to find out and get told I have to pay a R700 deposit as surety, first time this has ever been mentioned to me, after being told twice that it would be done no later than this week!! when I tell the supervisor that this is the first I have heard of it she tells me that I have to pay otherwise they will cancel order, i tell her no one has contacted me and she says they must have, telkoms' service is disgusting, they think because they have the monopoly they can treat their clients how they like!!
