Vodacom
Incorrectly handed over to credit bureau

My wife and I are busy applying for a bond. I was SHOCKED to find out that I have a default on Credit Bureau that was submitted by Vodacom. I quickly made a call to Vodacom to find out why this has happened because I knew very well that I paid all my debit orders with them and had cancelled my contracts well in advance in writing. Nkululeko in Legal department just straight up told me that my listing was in error because the number was activated by mistake and not deactivated thereafter. I am so infuriated by this whole nonsense because Vodacom's foolishness has tarnished my credit record which I NEVER EVER tarnished myself. I have always ensured that I pay my bills ON TIME. What I suspect has happened here is that some unscrupulous Vodacom employee (s) activated my ex number, used it for a full 8 months whilst the bill was accumulating then the handing over happened. I am pretty convinced that there are calls that were made in the 8 months leading to the hand over or how else would the account have accumulated a bill of R2328? This is of course a speculation but the onus is on Vodacom to prove otherwise. Nkululeko promised to clear Credit Bureau default and send letter for clarity.
