I logged a previous complaint about Vodacom's listing and they subsequently removed my default on TransUnion.
I have been keeping my end of the deal paying Vodacom every month as per agreement. Last month i tried to buy a house and was stunned to hear my bank saying that they can still pick up Vodacom's listing on my profile and for them to consider my application i needed to have 'proof of settlement' from Vodacom.
I called the Legal Department to investigate (1) why my name still appeared on the creditors/bureau listing and (2) how i could get a letter from them to say that I was keeping to my end of the deal through regular payments.
The long and short is Vodacom says I am no longer on the bureau (contrary to what my bank said), but that they do not send through progress letters - they will only send the settlement letter after i've paid every last cent. My predicament is that now i cannot get the house i want because Vodacom still appears on my credit even though we made an arrangement that is being honored.
please help?
