I recently got a new smartphone and on it was the Vodaphone Protect app. From day one I only receive updates and reminders. After I tried to modify the settings getting the app to be silent, it blocked my phone.
On my screen it gave me an option to send an email to change my password. I received an email with a link so that I could change my password. When I choose the option to reset my password I had to enter my cell number. According to Vodaphone my number isn't registered. After I choose to register, they send a sms to my BLOCKED phone so that I could chose a password.
Not one of the Vodacom numbers, according to their website, is an emergency number. So I am stuck without a phone.
My BLOCKED phone also sent an sms to a friend of mine saying: "That the pin is incorrect or message is formatted wrongly. Try again."
I am tired of struggling with Vodacom!!! If I don't have a problem with my account then I have a problem with apps I never wanted in the first place.
