Non working phone

I applied online for a Nokia Lumia 720, which I received today. I folowed the manual with regards to the phone and then turned it on to try it out. It works for half an hour and then froze and switched itself off and will not restart. What is happening to service... This is my 5 contract, and I must be an as I do not learn from my mistakes...
