For 6 years I have dilligently payed my handset insurance premium to MTNSP.
Now recently I have attempted my first claim due to a faulty handset.
This is my experience:-
(1) Attempted contacting them on 083 1236084 for three days. You can hold for upto 40 minutes, but they just don't answer the phone.
(2) After approximately 12 attempts in total, I eventually got through to an operator. They took all the details of the claim and issued me with a reference number. The operator promised I would be contacted within 48 hours to arrange the next steps. The 48 hours have now long expired and I have not been contacted.
(3) I have attempted again contacting them on 083 1236084, but with no success as they don't answer the phone.
I have come to the conclusion MTNSP Insurance is just a get rich scheme for themselves. They take your premium each month, but when a claim is attempted they just ignore you or make it virtually impossible to lodge a claim.
I would advise all to rather insure your handset through other service providers and avoid MTNSP Insurance at all costs.
