I bought a Russell Hobbs kettle (shop soiled not second-hand) at Cash Crusaders in Goodwood Mall on the 09/12/12. I returned it to the shop on the 27/12/12 because it stopped working. I was told that I could not be refunded because it was after the 7 day period - the kettle would be sent away for repairs it would take up to 21 working days. One of the assistants was kind enough to loan me a replacement.By 20/01/13 I had still not heard back, went to the shop and the manager then replaced the kettle with a new one (Same brand). Today 15/05/13 the kettle stopped working, went back to the shop, the owner Frans was there. At first, he rubbished my receipt, then he said I had to return a product more than 3 times to be refunded, then he said the assistant should not have given me a replacement... He was officious and uncompromising, he didn't care that my family would be 'kettle-less', he didn't care that this was a second replacement in 5mnths and he didn't want to refund - said it was against the policy - which they don't have in writing. Please advise since other retailers would replace or refund immediately seeing that it is still under warranty.
