I use an Uber every day and spend about R400 on the trip to work and home. On Saturday, I had to go to the Lakeview Hospital in Benoni. I booked a trip to get back to Norwood. The driver accepted, and the pending amount was taken off my credit card. When the driver arrived, he insisted I pay cash as he had no fuel. It was a mission to get the money canceled from my card. I was not impressed.
This morning, the driver accepted the ride and then messaged me to tell me he did not have enough petrol for the trip. This is unacceptable. Surely it is the drivers responsibility to have fuel in his car before accepting a ride. It delays the pick-up as another driver has to be allocated.
