Paint Defects - Damp Walls, Flaking & Thin Coating

Regarding the painting and damp-proofing work carried out by Permatex at my property, around the end of 2022.

Despite assurances of a 15-year guarantee (and up to 20 years as advertised on their website), the workmanship has proven unsatisfactory. Within three years of completion, the following issues have arisen:

Dampness seeping through several areas of the walls.
Paint bubbling and peeling, exposing the old paintwork underneath.
Thin and uneven paint coverage, which makes the house appear as though it was never properly painted.

I first notified Permatex of these problems on 23 January 2024, attaching photographs of the affected areas. Since then, I have sent multiple follow-up emails, but I have not received any written acknowledgement or response. The situation has worsened over time, with the damp spreading and the paint deteriorating further.

This lack of communication and failure to honor the guarantee is unacceptable, especially given the significant investment made in this project. I am extremely disappointed in both the workmanship and the customer service received.

I will not recommend Permatex to anyone and strongly advise others to stay away from this company.
