SA Post Office
Parcels have not moved from branch for a week

The postal strike currently underway in the Gauteng area is just becoming ridiculous now! It's absurd that a strike (an illegal one at that) should be allowed to go on for this long with no plans in place to continue operations as normal. Hire people who genuinely want to work and appreciate their jobs!

3 parcels were posted to me last week Monday (11/03/2013). It is now a week and tracking via SAPO website indicates that the parcels are still at the post office branch and have not moved! This is absurd, I've called the branch in azaadville and they assured me that the parcels are not at the branch but they have not been scanned anywhere else as yet either so where exactly are my parcels?

I have the same problem with a parcel sent from a post office branch in delarey and no movement on the parcel has been recorded as yet. I understand that the policy of 'no work, no pay' comes into effect here but just because the post office is not losing out on any money by not having to pay their striking workers, why exactly must this become our problem as a result of the post office not being able to handle the situation effectively and swiftly?
