During July and August my wife and I test drove and chose to buy an Audi A1 Sportsback 1.6 TDi from Audi East Rand Mall. Initially the dealership could not find, or agree a transfer of the car of our choice. We specified that the car should include the Audi Bluetooth telephone system amongst other things. Eventually the salesman told us that a car was arriving from Europe and had the exact specification we'd requested.

After waiting almost 2 months for a car we took delivery on Saturday 31st August. During the delivery process, we were told by the salesman that in the process of installing the tracking unit the cruise control had been disabled and the dealership had taken it upon themselves to install an after-market Bluetooth system which did not work with the Audi systems and was unuseable.

We advised Audi that this was unacceptable, and they agreed to remove the after market system, and install the invoiced factory fitted system.

Three days after finally receiving the car with the corrct system the engne warning lights came on. We cancelled the purchase, and now have waited 12 days for Audi to reimburse Standard Bank the purchase price! All this while we sit without a car!
