I rented a small hatch back on a rainy sunday afternoon, I walked in and asked to rent a car. I was handed some papers and was told that there was my car outside. That was it.
I then extended my rental, which when I phoned to do so, it took 20mins just to find me on the system becuase they had taken down my details wrongly. My name had been mispelt. So a small uncomfortable nissan cost me over R2500 for 12 days! Despite me being told R179 per day...
On inspection of the vehicle there were chips in the window, one of which when I used the cars heater, ran along the bottom of the window. When I brought the car back, I told the person what had happend and showed him.
He then said fine, wrote a statement saying so on record.
I then get an e-mail a few days later to say that I'm going to be held liable for the damage, with a photo of the windscreen with writing on it showing the damage. Bear in mind this was now done after I'd left and got the ok fro the person who checked me in. I reply with a query and to voice my disagreement. They ignore me and debit my credit card for a ridiculous amount.
I'm shocked that I don't even get a reply and they just take my money
