Rented a car from Thrifty Car Rental in Windhoek Airport. Had a the choice of Avis /Budget/ Imperial better car rental companies to choose but thought try someone else. Worst mistake I have made.
Started at the counter after the flight arrived, no one at the counter and waited for about 10 minutes and about to self service myself when a person arrived and said he would be coming as he had gone out. SERVICE what a way to start. Got the car and the person admit ed car was dirty and found another one slightly better. Competitors cars shiny and well looked after next door.
On the way back to the airport after our stay I got a puncture, jack was of poor quality and broke. Thank goodness for a kind Namibian who stopped and assisted.
Returned the car and told them about the puncture and left. Trouble started when i got my credit card statement.
1.CHARGE 10% service fee for filling up with fuel. NO service station at the airport. Have no choice.
2.CHARGED service fee for using credit card
3.CHARGED for a brand new tyre. Don't fix punctures??? NEVER SEEN A NEW TYRE ON THERE CARS
Rather use the AVIS/BUDGET/IMPERIAL that don't do the above. DON'T BE CAUGHT OUT
