Credit Card Account NOT closed

Hello Peter
On the 5th Feb I settled my credit card debt of R25417.48 with African bank and two days later on the 7th Feb I contacted African bank to close the credit card because I do not need it anymore. I was told that the credit card will be closed by the 19th Feb as their turn around time is 5 days and I will only receive a paid up letter once the card has been closed. On the 12th Feb I received a call from from one of the African bank consultants telling me how well I conducted my credit card and has offered to keep it open and suggested a lower instalment if I kept the account opened, I then told him that I was not interested in the offer as I have decided that I wanted the credit card account closed. He then promised me that he will close it as he was working on it on that day. Today the 14th Feb I called African bank to find out if the account has been closed or not so that I can get a paid up letter, the consultant that I spoke to told me that the account will only be closed on the 21st Feb. She also refused to transfer my call to the credit card division and told me that they don't deal with clients. I want this account closes and a letter to confirm this.
Please HELP!!!
