I've opened an Elite Plus account for R99pm in August. When I collected my cheque card the lady at the Clearwater branch told me that my overdraft is R31 000 but it would only activate once my salary gets paid into this account. Today I went to the Randburg branch to change my salary to be paid into the standard bank account. When i asked about the overdraft the lady told me I should have accepted the overdraft when i collected the card and not declined it. Now why the would i decline it??? I never did that!!! Then she said I have to use my account for 6 months before I can apply again. I am so sick and tired of people giving me false and wrong information and now you never know who to believe. But when I asked for the account to be closed standard bank is very quick to say i have to pay money first before i can close my account. I was prepared to move everything but not after today. They always tell you a lot of stories and empty promises but when it come to do it, then there is a lot of diferent stories. There should be a law against this type of thins as its false advertising and I would never have opened an account if i knew this
