Basically, I took this policy out when I bought my car from Std Band as an add-on... it covers touch up scratches etc.
I had a few stone chips on my 2 x doors and bonnet and it was quoted as R16k. Included in this R16k was damage to my one of my rim which was going to cost R1600 to fix. The scratches on the rim and the stone chips on the door were 2 x separate incidents that happened days apart, in fact a week. I logged it as such on the phone for the claim.
This insurance co now tell me that my claim is rejected in totality as it is in excess of R3k, which is their limit. They say its in the fine print of my policy, but upon looking at my policy, there is no fine print and its not stipulated anywhere. Furthermore I have not received a copy in the mail of the policy, I had to request this one via Std bank online.
Then they say my R1600 for my rim repairs is also invalid as because its part of the same claim and I should have logged it when it happened, so they reject it. This angers me as I logged it within a week of both incidents.
Is this fair or not? Do I have recourse against them in terms of CPA legislation?
Or are they correct and should I just cancel my policy
