I took out the Small dents & Scratches policy in addition to my policy because of the state of Gauteng roads. On the 14th of March another vehicle shot up a piece of truck-tyre which hit the bonnet of my vehicle and left quite a bad dent. I phoned Auto and General to register a claim. I also told them that I am prepared to replace the number plate and the chip protector (which was broken in the incident) at my own cost as it reduces the claim amount on the policy. I was then referred to an assessment centre in my area. I then took my car in to be assessed and waited a week for Auto Magic to submit my assessment. Only to be told today that the claim was rejected because the costs were higher than what I am covered for. The person at Auto Magic said while the vehicle is going in for repairs we might as well try fix up the other smaller dents and scratches. My problem is not that they rejected the claim - it is because they rejected the ENTIRE CLAIM and did not even look at the claim and said "lets fix up the bonnet and leave the others... as a result I cancelled my policy as I am paying for something that is absolutely useless to me.
