I was retrenched end of June, My premium went off as normal. I contacted Nedbank Insurance as I had a retrenchment policy, They paid an amount, however there was a balance. Nobody contacted me to make an arrangement. While waiting for my UIF to pay out, I lent some money from a family member to get by and for fuel to go for Interviews until UIF came in. My intention was to pay the balance with the UIF money. So the money I lent just cleared in my account and before I could even check it in my account it was taken by Nedbank personal loans. I called them, they transferred me to collections who once again did not allow me to explain, instead she just spoke over me and then put me on hold till my airtime cut. I asked them to reverse a portion of the money and I wanted to make an arrangement to settle the balance using the UIF money as soon as this is paid, which in my understanding would be at the end of the month. My personal loan was never in arrears, why is Nedbank personal loans unwilling to listen? Who gives them authority to just debit whenever they feel like? I feel highly prejudiced by this and they have placed me in a serious situation.
