Hello Peter.

I recently moved to nedbank from my previous banker after I had highlighted my expectations clearly. I opened up a savvy account and was informed I could apply for an overdraft once my salary had been credited to that account. I informed my employer of my bank change and come month end the salary was in. I stated to my consultant the need to apply for an overdraft so as to consolidate my debts and the need to close of my previous banker account. An application was lodged and initially was rejected by the system due to a listing on the credit bureaux. I advised that that account had been settled in in March and provided the proof of settlement. I was then advised that they had re-submitted the application with a motivation and that the application was being done manually. 4 days later after persistently calling I was informed that my application had been declined and I should try again after 2 months. I am very disappointed because I was ill advised and now I have my previous banker on my case and Nedbank has scored a client. Within 2 months I will obviously be worse of and they will decline me again. This is so unfair and unacceptable. I am very disappointed.
