New Credit Card Application

I received a phonecall from a Nedbank consultant on 8 Jan 13, advising me that I could apply for a new credit card with one of the advantages being to consolidate my debt at a reduced interest rate for a year. The consultant was very helpful and I proceeded with the application. He advised me that I would have an answer within 7 to 10 working days. I phoned the call centre today to follow up, as it was the 10th working day. The call took 20 minutes, as the consultant had to request the supervisor to look into the account status. I was advised that 2 applications were completed, one on the 11th and one of the 20th of January, the first application was disregarded and I would have an answer within 10 working days, which would be by the 4th of Feb, almost a month since the first call received. I requested the name of the person who completed the application and was advised that it could possibly be a system error and that they can't help for the error. I had an account with Nedbank previously and closed it due to an unpleasant experience. I was very impressed with the service received on 8 Jan, but I'm sad to say that Nedbank once again didn't deliver.
