Utterly discussed with Vodacom Repairs

I have never ever had a different provider than Vodacom from my first phone in 1997. I also have never had any problems with mobile devices. Now for the first time in 16 years I got a problem with my iPhone 4S where it suddenly just stopped charging. It happened at 4 AM while we were sleeping. It just started connecting and the disconnecting again all of a sudden. After taking my phone in for repairs as it is still under warranty, they called me back and said the phone has physical damage. The funny thing is that the iPhone has been in a casing since the day I bought it and has never been dropped. Nothing is supposed to be wrong with the phone. The repair center says I have put in the charger plug incorrectly. IT CAN ONLY GO IN ONE WAY. So now I have to pay R 2900 because it apparently has physical damage by charging it with the standard apple charger as I did with my previous iPhone which is more than 2 years old and still works fine. I'm not at all happy with Vodacom Repair Centre decision.
