Another win for Vodacom over MTN

My 2 contracts end on the 8th of April 2013 so I phone up MTN (cant do it trough a local branch) to inform them I want to cancel my contracts and move the sims over to prepaid when it ends, they then inform me no i have to call in on the 9th they can only do so then and all the airtime on the sims will be lost Over R500 and there is nothing they can do about this

where the Vodacom win comes in, I had 2 contracts there as well, when the one came up for renewal end feb 2013 i phoned them on the 1st and they proceeded to queued the cancellation within 5 min and informed me that on the end of the month I must just power down the phone and it will switch and no airtime was lost

So why Oh why can MTN not do the same? and the representatives you talk to just don't seem to care in any regard, might as well speak to a pre recorded voice, will have the same affect
