They told me not to do it, but I did it anyway

I have lived in my current residence for about 4 years now. For a while I have wanted to install ADSL/WiFi, but have been reluctant given that the line, regardless of ISP would need to be installed by Telkom. In December I get contacted by Telkom offering to install ADSL in my house. I expressed this reluctance to the consultant, but she assured me of the service levels I would receive if I sign up TODAY, I agree. Fast-forward to the last couple of weeks. My internet has been down since last week. I called in 4 times and got 4 different stories:
1. My line is down so a technician needs to come out to resolve the issue
2. Your line is fine, your service just needs to be migrated to our improved network service
3. You have already been migrated, we just need you to be at home (take time from work) by your modem to ascertain the actual problem
4. Finally, "Our service has been down since last week, it will only be up tomorrow, 7 January 2013..."

I have one major question: when, if ever, was I or any customer like myself gonna get any such communication?

Negative marks for service delivery...
