Last year November I applied for a contract phone at MTN - Galleria. It took the consultant two weeks to give me feedeback re: the application upon which he informed me that I did not qualify for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and that I need to down grade to another phone to qualify. I told the consultant I was not interested. 2 days later another call came through from the consultant informing that the contract had been approved for the Galaxy S4 and that I may collect the device any time. I did not collect the phone as I was no longer interested in doing business with MTN thanks to the poor service received.
On the 25th December 2013 I received a call from the consultant enquiring when I will be collecting the phone. I told him I will not be collecting the phone as I was no longer interested in having a contract with MTN as I had already had one with Vodacom. The most amazing thing was when on the 28th December a deduction of R474 reference MTN was done on my bank account.
MY QUESTION TO MTN :
1.What gives you the right to make deductions on my account without my consent?
2.How do you deduct my account when I am not your customer and you are still in possession of the phone?
