Vodacom - Still Absolutely Useless

I have recently been receiving around 20 calls a day from a "Private Number". Every time I answer, nobody is on the line. I called Vodacom and they tell me there is no way to trace whoever is calling me. I need to go to a local Vodacom shop to see if they are able to assist.
Why is there no protection of our details? I have never been asked if I want to be called with rubbish offers and I have certainly never been given the option of choosing. How is this legal? The UK has the Data Protection act, why do we not have the same. Also why are numbers allowed to be unlisted? Surely if someone calls me I have a right to see their number? As usual though, when you report a problem and ask for their help you find they couldnt possibly be LESS HELPFUL!!!
