I recently got a Vodacom contract line (Beginning of the year) and 4 out of 6 calls on that number are for people that are looking for some one that i do not know. These calls and sms's also come late at night and I have to wake up, answer the call and get these annoying calls especially when they do not have anything to do with me.. I reported my case at Vodacom Menlyn and they said someone will call me after they have completed the investigations and if possible the number could be changed at cost of about R300 (And the consultant was so rude to even suggest that I incur cost and yet I am not at fault). A day later I got an sms that said " Dear Valued customer: we advise that deleted numbers are recycled, top up package cannot be changed: Kind regards Vodacom customer care Thabo Daweti " and that was it. So in shot it means there is no solution to this problem and it can not be solved.
I really feel that vodacom is now taking people for granted with this number recycling thing and besides no where in the contract does it mention the anything about recycled numbers... If they do recycle numbers. Surely there should be quality checks done on the recycled number b4 re-use.
