NOT RECEIVING ALL INCOMING CALLS

Hi.
I have a new contract with Vodacom, app 2 weeks old. It cost me R1 000 per month, but I do not receive all my incoming calls. Some just register as missed calls, other indicates to the caller the nr does not exist. On Friday I visited the Vodacom shop where I took out my contract. I explained my problem. The Vodacom agent said that because the George area doesn't have strong signals on the data side, the Smart Phones trend to do this. The phone calls and the data compete to find signal, and in this "competition" you lose the calls. Thus, the only way is to put the data option off or only on Edge. In this way you will be able to receive calls, because this will not have predominance over the calls any more. I then reported the problem to the Vodacom call centre. On Friday afternoon, a technician phoned me. He confirmed what the consultant told me. He went as far to say that this area does not support Smartphones and he suggested I cancel my contract. This is absolutely incredible. I have switched off all data services, but the problem still continue. Vodacom send me a mail that they can only resolve this by 6 Aug. Please help!!!
