Exorbitant fees charged to cancel contract

Hello and please be aware!
I took out a vodacom contract for 24months for a Samsung Galaxy S3 about 1 year ago.
I have 13 months left and I am about to relocate to another country.

When trying to cancel or at least downgrade my contract, Vodacom are charging me 75% of the remaining balance which amounts to about R5 500. The sad part is that this includes data and airtime which I will have to pay for but cant use. So Vodacom score 13 months of data and airtime that I have to forfeit.

My alternative option to at least downgrade my subscription but this is countered by what is called a package migration fee. This fee is also exorbitant and once again prevents me from doing anything about it.

Really unhappy and the public need to consider these charges before signing a contract with Vodacom.
I would advise that people shop around for better looking deals than this!
