I am so frustrated... it all started in September 2012 when my husband and I were retrenched. I approached Vodacom to downgrade. However the migration costs/ penalties are so steep that I could not downgrade as I could not afford the penalty.

Then I approached them again in November as my situation became more dire, still the migration fees were ridiculous as it would not save me a blue cent anyway.

However, January 2013 came - we had to cancel our medical aid, life policies, downgrade insurance, as we are really struggling financially. I again approached Vodacom and Fremont @ Menlyn branch is trying to assist me. He is brilliant at his job - but Head Office does not respond to him, he keeps trying but to no avail.

All I want is to migrate to a cheaper option - not cancel contract - my Feb andf March debit orders has bounced. Vodacom has barred my phone, demanding that I pay the bill and penalties, but I'm on a Top Up and did not receive the airtime in the first place. Why should I pay for airtime I did not receive?

I need to downgrade, I have 6 months left on my contract. My docs were submitted 4 weeks ago and no-one is advising me. Been a contract client since 2002.
