Vodacom
Pre-order disappointment

On 8 November I signed up for the iPhone Pre-order and after receiving no phone call, similar to other complaints I contacted the online order department myself. The order was completed at this point and I was pleased with how I was handled by the call centre and all interactions. I was told I have to receive my phone by delivery and hearing the radio ads and the online delivery advert which states I quote "We offer free next-day delivery on orders placed before 12pm (subject to availability)." and being told by numerous call centre operators i would receive it within the week.

The iPhone was released on 15 November. It is now 21 November and I have yet to receive my phone, this would not be an issue if I was not going away this Saturday til mid December. I was not initially frustrated assuming there was a normal initial stock issue, however there is ample stock at various Vodacom stores. Now my question is what is the point of a pre-order if I am not a priority customer? My colleague has already received his phone from Vodacom and my two phones on contract have yet to even be dispatched to RAM, who is more than willing to allow me to pick up the phone, if only they had it.
