VODACOM TAKES THE CAKE

I recently opted to upgrade my cell phone. Vodacom were offering a really sweet deal of a Vodafone with HP Laptop at R199-00.Well today was switch over day from my trusty Blackberry and that meant everything seemed to shut down. I exchanged the sim card, spent a few hours trying to connect e mails again and finally gave up. Time for the call centre.
The agent who answered earlier today, politely asked for the details on the phone, and then gave an explanation as to why he couldn't help. Apparently according to this Vodacom representative, they Vodacom, have no information on the specific phone they sell, and it can at times take as long as six months to get information from the supplier. After this ground breaking revelation, I was told that information on a similar phone could be provided but obviously it may not work. Ironically the call centre agent wasn't wrong as it didn't work. Apparently wasting hours on trying to get the phone to work, coupled with the waste of time dealing with the call centre isn't enough. I must now go to a Vodacom Shop and waste more time to get the matter looked out.
Having been with Vodacom for more than 20 years, you just have to wonder.
