Porting From Vodacom to CellC is impossible

Recently I saw some of the great deals offered by Vitality Mobile (CellC) en decided to move my family over to take advantage of these benefit.

I applied for a new CellC contract on the 10th October and I was promised that porting my old number would not be an issue. My old Autopage (Vodacom) contract expired on the 24th of October and a series of porting decline messages without any reason was received.

On Monday the 28th, after a CellC porting official called me on my old Autopage number, my old phone was not registering on the Vodacom network anymore.

Today Cellc reports that porting is not an option any more.

This is the third day without my old number working. I use my old number for business only and have been done so for more than 10 years.

By joining Vitality Mobile, I have now lost my old number. Autopage cannot retrieve the old number. I just don't know where to from here.

I would like to advise anybody not to try porting an old number and end up in this situation.
