Amsung S3 problems - REALLY FRUSTRATED AND DISSAPP

I bought my phone in July 2012 and a new sim card (micro sim). It worked well until February 2013, and the phone drama began. I am not sure if the problem is with the device or sim card because the sim card and phone don't work together - I tested the simcard on another phone and the phone with another simcard, all scenarios mentioned were successful. I don't know why the two dont work anymore. Once the two together, I get an error message: Restart and Insert sim card! I have to switch off the device for a while before I can use it. I took my phone to the MTN shop where I bought it and I was referred to the Repair center, it was booked in on the 5 Feb 2013. The fault identified: software and the update was done. I collected the phone and returned on the 7th Feb 2013. It had the same problem - so I'm back to square one. I have emailed the MTN compliant mailbox and still no reply or call from MTN. I then took the device to the Samsung in Clearwater mall shop and they were not able to assist. I went back to MTN store for them to check the simcard and there is nothing wrong with it. This problem has persisted and I have opted to separate the two. I am opting not to renew my contract
