Terrible service from MTN

On 18 January 2013, whilst on holiday, I visited the store in question for an upgrade on my contract. I was assisted by Julian Tredoux, a sales person at the store. I was on a Top-Up 350 package prior to upgrading and requested to be kept on the same package or a package similar for the iPhone 5 16GB.

Julian advised that he could offer an Anytime 200 package which offers R200 airtime. Julian also explained that the airtime on the old sim card (approximately R280) would be forfeited if I were to upgrade. However the new sim card would only be activated in 12 hours or so. I agreed to the contract. Julian failed to explain however, that the airtime may only be used towards calls and not calls/data like the Top-Up package. Also, the old sim card stopped working 20-30 minutes after I left the store, causing me to lose the R280 airtime.

After receiving the statement for March 2013, I visited a local MTN store and was told that any contract changes or issues must be addressed with the store where the contract was taken. This was not possible as I reside in Port Shepstone, KZN and the store in question is in Cape Town.

After numerous attempts to resolve this issue, I am still waiting.
