IPhone 5, poor repair service

My 4 month old Vodacom iPhone 5's microphone recently stopped working, after visiting both MTN and Vodacom repair centers, i was very disapointed in Vodacom's repair center. Vodacare in Midrand explained that the unit would have to booked in and would be repaired in 7-14 working days, and if the fault was hardware related, i would recieve a refurbished phone. I find this frustrating as my phone is in mint condition and i would be annoyed if i were to receive a second phone.
However, the MTN repair center in Boksburg explained that the hardware related issue on the phone would result in the phone being swapped and replaced with a new phone, out the box, on the same day. This process would have taken an hour for a brand new phone as apposed to 7-14 working days for a refurbished phone. Sadly the phone is with Vodacom.
