Vodacom refuses to repair my iPhone 5 and claims it's not a Vodacom handset even though I received it at a Vodacom outlet in Incredible Connection on a Vodacom contract upgrade and I'm payment a 24 Months Handset Instalment (and still have 18 instalments left) and I gave them my slip as proof. After sending my phone in for repairs twice at Cresta Vodacare I was informed that the phone is not a Vodacom phone and they won't fix or replace it, that's it.
I went to Vodacom to upgrade my Vodacom contract and received a phone from Vodacom. As a consumer where is it my responsibility to ensure that I was giving a Vodacom phone or check the country of origin - I assumed as much as I got the phone from Vodacom that it is a Vodacom phone and the responsibility should rest with them to ensure they receive correct stock from the suppliers not mine. My phone has been broken for a month already - when it was just six months old and it is still under warranty. I did not drop it and there is no physical damage to it. The screen just stopped working/switched off, the phone itself is still working.
Come on Vodacom, what is going on!
I'll be making a complaint to the NCC as well next week.
