On 27/06/13 I booked my Nokia E7 in to have it checked, due to it not charging. Job card no. 1-8924273214. I'm not an expert & assumed that th battery charging pin broke as it felt loose &just needed replacement. Discussed this wth the ladies at the MTNshop &understood tht I might need to pay for th repair/part. After 3 wks of back & fro wth MTN I receive a report back frm th technician saying tht th warranty has been voided due to the phone being BEYOND ECONOMICAL REPAIR (cost exceed 75% of replacement value)!! And I was shown out the door!! Not wanting to make a fuss, I decided I'd get a 2nd opinion & took it to a small cell repair shop nearby, 2days later (today 02/08/13) my phone is fixed with a new charging pin @R300-00!! My phone is as good as new, while MTN recommended ''tht th devise be scrapped &disposed in an environmentally friendly manner''. Now my question is, is MTN's technicians really qualified for th job they're employed for? Or are they just a bunch of lazy buggers pretending to work? Why issue warranty when there's no intention to repair? Disgusted that I've been a customer to this company for so long whn clearly they do not have their client's interest at heart.
